Zephemera’s one-of-a-kind works are created by book artist Jocelyn Bergen, who has been making limited-edition book art and custom cards for over fifteen years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her artwork is published under the Zephyrine Press imprint, and she teaches book art and bookbinding at the San Francisco Center for the Book.
Zephemera is best to hire for parties inviting 100 or fewer guests, since the folded structures we design are labor-intensive, but we’ll consider more with a simpler design. The fewer the guests, the more elaborate the invitation can be.
Our process begins with a meeting, in person or over the phone. On signup, your $500 deposit allows us to create design options and a paper mockup from which we then refine and produce your invitation or announcement.
Please call us well in advance of your event, two months for a party or announcement, and four to six months for weddings. Custom work, by definition, takes longer, and we want to make sure you receive the best design possible, which cannot be done in a rush.
